A legal disclaimer
Effective date: October 25, 2026
Last updated: October 25, 2026
Version: 2026-10-25
Thank you for being part of Sent to Serve. Sent to Serve exists to help people find places to serve and to help ministries raise what they need for the work God has given them. Doing that well means handling your information with care and honesty.
This policy explains, in plain words, what we collect, why we collect it, who can see it, and the choices you have.
"Sent to Serve," "we," "us," and "our" mean Sent to Serve, LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company, based in New Jersey, USA. This policy covers senttoserve.com and the services on it (the "Site"). Words such as "Member," "Organization," "Listing," "Fundraiser," "Individual Fundraiser" and "Recipient" have the meanings in our Terms of Use. This policy works together with our Terms of Use, Donation and Refund Policy, Fundraiser and Recipient Terms, Community Guidelines, Youth Safety Policy and Cookie Notice.
1. The short version
-
Account information. We collect the details you give us to create an account, build a profile, post or apply to opportunities, and donate.
-
Who sees your application. When you apply to an opportunity, the Organization that posted it sees your application details: your name, email, phone, date of birth and bio.
-
How donations are paid. Donations are processed by Stripe on the Recipient's own Stripe account. The Recipient is the merchant of record. Sent to Serve keeps a 1% platform fee from each gift. We never see or store your full card number.
-
We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for targeted advertising. Some state laws may treat analytics cookies as 'sharing'; you can limit them as described in Section 6.
-
Wherever you live. We serve people in the US and in other countries. Section 9 explains your rights, including extra rights if you're in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland.
-
Your rights. You can ask to see, correct or delete your information by emailing Senttoserve.help@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
When you… → We collect
-
Create an account → Email address and password (passwords are handled by our platform provider, Wix; we can't see them), plus your name
-
Complete your member profile → First and last name, email, phone number, date of birth, and a short bio
-
Set up an organization profile → Organization name, description, logo, website, contact email (required), phone number (required), your choice about whether to hide your phone number from the public, address, organization type and, if you choose, an EIN (optional)
-
Post a volunteer opportunity, mission or fundraiser → Title, description, photo, category, location, dates and times, minimum age, available spots, contact email, website, fundraising goal and deadline
-
Apply to an opportunity → A copy of your profile details (name, email, phone, date of birth, bio), the opportunity you applied to, and the application's status
-
Save a listing → The listings you saved
-
Donate → The Fundraiser, amount, date and status of your gift, and whether you chose to give anonymously. From Stripe we also receive the card brand and last four digits, Stripe reference numbers and, if your profile has no name, the name entered at checkout
-
Start an Individual Fundraiser → Your acceptance of the fundraiser terms (with the date and terms version), and the information about your mission or ministry purpose
-
Fill out a contact form → Your name, email, organization (optional) and your message
-
Report a concern or contact us → What you tell us, including anything you forward to us
Information marked as required is needed to create a profile, apply or donate. Without it, we can't provide those services.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, our website platform (Wix) automatically records some technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. This happens through cookies and similar technologies, which help keep you logged in, keep the Site secure and make it work. See our Cookie Notice.
-
Usage and device data from our analytics providers. Our analytics providers, Wix Analytics and Google Analytics (Google LLC), collect information about how you use the Site, such as pages viewed, links clicked, time spent, the site that referred you, your browser and device type, and your approximate location (from your IP address). Google Analytics data goes to Google, under Google's Privacy Policy. They use analytics cookies, which are non-essential. Once our cookie banner is in place, visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland will get them only if they accept them, and everyone else will be able to opt out. Until then, you can block or delete them in your browser settings or with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (see Section 6 and our Cookie Notice).
-
We've turned off Google's advertising features and data sharing for our analytics.
-
We don't use advertising or marketing tools, such as a Meta Pixel.
Information from others
-
Stripe. Stripe tells us whether a payment succeeded, was refunded or was disputed. For Recipients, it also tells us whether their Stripe account is ready to accept donations and payouts.
-
Organizations. When an Organization decides on your application, we record that decision and any note the Organization includes.
Information we do not collect
-
Card details. We don't collect full card numbers or bank account numbers. Stripe collects them directly.
-
Identity verification. When Recipients set up payouts, Stripe asks them for identity details such as legal name, date of birth, address, part or all of a Social Security number, a tax ID and bank details. Stripe collects these directly, and we don't store them.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
-
run the Site: create and secure your account, show your profile where it's needed, and remember your saved listings;
-
connect volunteers with opportunities: send your application to the Organization you applied to, and show you the status of your applications and upcoming service;
-
make giving possible:
-
start a secure checkout with Stripe;
-
record your gift so you and the Recipient can see it;
-
update Fundraiser totals;
-
keep records of refunds and disputes;
-
-
review content: the Sent to Serve team reviews every new or edited listing before it goes live, and may look into concerns people report to us (see our Community Guidelines);
-
send notifications:
-
send in-site notifications, for example about a new application or a decision;
-
send you transactional emails about your account, applications, listings and donations, for example application received, approved or denied, a new applicant, listing approved or denied, donation received, Stripe setup needed, and a warning before an inactive account is deleted. We don't send marketing emails. These emails are sent through Wix (see Section 4). The donation-received email to a Recipient includes the donor's name, or "An anonymous donor" if the donor chose to give anonymously, and never the donor's email address (see Section 4);
-
confirm your gift: after every successful gift, send you a confirmation email and an on-site notification ("Thank you for your gift") with the amount and the fundraiser. It's a confirmation, not a tax receipt;
-
-
answer your questions and respond to requests;
-
prevent fraud and abuse: enforce our Terms of Use, keep records of important actions (such as approvals, terms you accepted and reports), and protect our Members;
-
follow the law: meet legal, tax and accounting requirements;
-
understand and improve the Site: use analytics data to see which pages and features people use, find problems and make the Site better.
We don't currently send a newsletter. If we start one, we'll send it only to people who ask for it, with an unsubscribe link in every email.
We don't use your information for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. Volunteer decisions are made by the posting Organization, and listing decisions are made by a person on the Sent to Serve team.
Privacy Policy - the basics
4. Who can see your information
What other visitors and Members can see
-
Listings and organization profiles are public. Anyone can view an approved listing without logging in while it's live. Past listings drop out of the main browse lists, the home page and the default map the day after their date, and are removed from all public views 7 days after their end date or event date (see section 11). You need to sign in to apply or donate.
-
What a listing shows:
-
its title, type, category, description and photo;
-
the Organization's name, website and logo;
-
the location: browse cards show the city and state, and an opened listing shows the event's full street address (and its spot on our map, where shown);
-
dates and times, minimum age and available spots;
-
for Fundraisers: the goal, the amount raised, the number of donors, the deadline and its status.
-
-
Public listing data. A listing's data, including the event address and its map coordinates, is publicly accessible.
-
Donor names are not shown on listings.
-
Organization profiles show the Organization's name, description, logo, website, city and state.
-
Organization contact details.
-
Email: an Organization's contact email is always shown on its public profile, so volunteers and donors can reach it.
-
Phone:
-
An Organization's phone number is shown on its profile unless the Organization ticks "Hide my phone number from the public."
-
If it's hidden, Members and the public never see it.
-
-
Street address: an Organization's own street address is not shown publicly.
-
-
A listing's contact email is not shown publicly.
-
-
Individual Fundraisers show the person's first name and last initial (for example, "Jane D."), plus the Fundraiser's location and the label "Personal fundraiser. Gifts go directly to Jane D. and are not tax-deductible." They never show the person's email, phone or date of birth.
Organizations you interact with
-
If you apply to an opportunity, the Organization that posted it can see your name, email, phone number, date of birth and bio, along with your application.
-
Application notifications. When you apply, the in-site notifications we send you about your application (and emails, once we turn them on) include the Organization's name, its contact email, its phone number if shown, and a link to its profile, so you can reach it.
-
Contacting an Organization. Sent to Serve doesn't have in-site messaging. To reach an Organization, you use the contact email shown on its profile, or its phone number if the Organization has chosen to show it.
-
Anything you send that way, such as emails, calls or texts, is between you and the Organization. The same goes when an Organization contacts you using the details in your application.
-
Sent to Serve doesn't see, store or monitor those communications, unless you forward them to us, for example in a report. The Organization's own privacy practices apply to what you share with it.
-
Please be thoughtful about the personal information you share, and only share what's needed.
-
-
If you donate, the Recipient sees, on Sent to Serve, your name, the date, the amount, the fees and the status of your gift, and the donation-received email we send it includes your name. It doesn't see your email or card details from us.
-
Giving anonymously. You can tick "Give anonymously" on the donate form. You choose this before you donate, and it can't be changed after you give. Sent to Serve then hides your name from the Recipient and other users and marks your gift as anonymous (our own team can still see it). The Recipient's Donations log and My Fundraisers page show "Anonymous donor", and our donation-received email says "An anonymous donor". We still keep your name and your account details with our record of the gift, so you can see it in My Donations and we can handle refunds, disputes and legal or tax questions. We keep that record for 7 years and then remove your personal details from it (Section 8).
-
What Stripe still records. Your payment is made through the Recipient's own Stripe account, so Stripe still records your transaction details, which usually include your name and email, and the Recipient can see them in its Stripe account. Sent to Serve doesn't control that. The anonymous option only controls what our Site shows.
-
Stripe gives the Recipient its own record of the payment, which may include your email address, billing details and your card's brand and last four digits, because your payment is made on the Recipient's Stripe account. The Recipient's use of it is governed by its own policies and Stripe's.
-
The Sent to Serve team
-
The Sent to Serve team (our administrator) can access Site data to review listings, help with support requests, look into reports and keep the Site safe.
-
Organization phone numbers. We collect every Organization's phone number for our own use, for example to verify the Organization, help with support and respond to safety concerns. We do this even when the Organization hides its number from the public.
Service providers and Stripe
-
Wix.com hosts the Site, stores its data, manages member logins and forms, sends our emails (including the transactional emails in Section 3), and provides error monitoring. Wix pages load an error-reporting service, Sentry, which may receive technical data such as your IP address and browser type when an error occurs. (Wix Privacy Policy)
-
Wix Analytics (part of Wix) and Google Analytics (Google LLC) collect usage and device data for us, so we can understand how the Site is used (see Sections 2 and 6). Google Analytics data goes to Google, under Google's Privacy Policy. We've turned off Google's advertising features and data sharing for our analytics.
-
Stripe processes donations on each Recipient's own Stripe account, verifies the identity of Recipients, and handles payouts. Recipients issue any refunds and receipts through their Stripe accounts. Stripe also uses some payment data for its own purposes, such as fraud prevention and legal compliance, under its own privacy policy and as an independent controller. (Stripe Privacy Policy)
Legal and safety reasons
-
We may share information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our Members, the public or Sent to Serve.
If Sent to Serve changes
-
If Sent to Serve is involved in a merger, reorganization, dissolution, or transfer of all or part of its work or assets, your information may be transferred as part of it. It would remain protected by this policy or one at least as protective.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't process it for targeted advertising. Some state laws may treat analytics cookies as 'sharing.' Once our cookie banner is in place, you'll be able to opt out with Reject or Settings. Until then, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
What to include in the Privacy Policy
5. Donations and payment information
-
How payments work:
-
Every donation is processed by Stripe on the Recipient's own Stripe account, in US dollars.
-
The Recipient is the merchant of record for your gift, and is responsible for receipts, refunds, disputes and tax acknowledgments. Your payment is a transaction between you and the Recipient. The Recipient's own privacy practices apply to the payment details Stripe gives it, such as your email address.
-
Sent to Serve doesn't receive or hold donated funds. We only receive a 1% platform fee, which comes out of each gift (see our Donation and Refund Policy).
-
-
Card data: your card details go straight to Stripe's secure checkout. We store only the card brand and last four digits, so you can recognize the gift in your history.
-
Our confirmation: after every successful gift, we send you a confirmation email and an on-site notification ("Thank you for your gift") with the amount and the fundraiser. It's not a tax receipt. Sent to Serve doesn't issue tax receipts or confirm any Recipient's tax-exempt status. For a receipt, an acknowledgment or tax-exemption details, please contact the organization you gave to directly. Gifts to Individual Fundraisers are not tax-deductible.
-
Receipts: depending on the Recipient's Stripe settings, Stripe may email you a payment receipt on the Recipient's behalf. It's a payment receipt, not a tax receipt.
-
Giving anonymously: Sent to Serve hides your name from the Recipient and other users and marks your gift as anonymous, but Stripe still records your transaction details, which usually include your name and email, and the Recipient can see them in its Stripe account (see Section 4). You choose this before you donate, and it can't be changed after you give.
-
Tax deductibility:
-
Gifts to Individual Fundraisers are not tax-deductible.
-
We never guarantee that a gift is tax-deductible. Whether a gift to an Organization is deductible depends on that Organization. Ask the Organization about its tax status, and check with a tax advisor.
-
If you pay tax outside the United States, your gift may not be deductible where you live, even if the Organization is a US charity. Check with a tax advisor.
-
-
Your giving history: you can see your donation history on your My Donations page.
6. Cookies
We use cookies that are needed to run the Site, keep you logged in and keep it secure, and analytics cookies (Wix Analytics and Google Analytics) to understand how the Site is used. Our Cookie Notice explains more and how to control them.
-
Analytics cookies are non-essential. We're adding a cookie banner that will let you accept or reject them. Until it's in place, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
-
Do Not Track: browsers' "Do Not Track" signals have no common standard, and we don't currently respond to them.
-
Global Privacy Control: We don't sell personal information. Some state laws may treat analytics cookies as 'sharing.' We don't yet respond to Global Privacy Control signals. Once our cookie banner is in place, we'll treat them as an opt-out. Until then, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
7. Children and young people
Age rules (the same rules appear in our Terms of Use §2 and Youth Safety Policy §2):
-
Under 13: the Site isn't for children under 13. We check your date of birth when you complete your member profile, and members under 13 can't complete a profile. You can't apply or donate until your profile is complete. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we'll delete the account and its information.
-
EEA and UK: If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you must be at least 18 to create an account. We check this when you save your member profile: you'll be asked whether you live in the EEA or the UK, and if you do, the date of birth on your profile must show you're at least 18. We rely on what you tell us and don't verify it.
-
Ages 13–17: if you're under 18, you must have your parent or legal guardian's permission to use the Site, and they must review and agree to our Terms of Use for you. Parents and guardians who let a minor use the Site are responsible for that use.
-
Teen checkbox before applying: before applying to any volunteer opportunity or mission, a member aged 13–17 must check a box confirming that a parent or legal guardian has agreed to their participation and will be present for the volunteering. You may apply only to opportunities whose minimum age you meet. This checkbox is the member's own confirmation. Sent to Serve doesn't contact or verify the parent or guardian, or check that they're present. Organizations remain responsible for their own consent and supervision checks.
-
Organizations' own age rules: an Organization may set a higher minimum age, or require its own signed parental consent forms. That's the Organization's responsibility.
-
18 or older to organize or receive donations: you must be at least 18 to create an organization profile, post a listing, start a Fundraiser, or connect a Stripe account to receive donations. You must also be 18 or older to start an Individual Fundraiser.
More about young people:
-
What Organizations see. When a teen applies, the Organization sees the same application details as for any applicant: name, email, phone, date of birth and bio.
-
Parents and guardians. If you're a parent or guardian with a concern about your teen's account, email us at Senttoserve.help@gmail.com.
-
Volunteer age limits: Organizations set their own minimum ages for opportunities and are responsible for any youth-protection steps their activities need. The Site shows the minimum age but doesn't check applicants' ages against it.
-
More: see our Youth Safety Policy.
8. How long we keep information
We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy:
-
Your account and profile: until you delete your account or ask us to, except as described below, or until your account has been inactive for 3 years, whichever comes first. "Inactive" means no sign-in and no other activity (such as applying, donating, saving your profile, or posting or editing a listing) for 3 years, counted from the latest of these. We'll try to email you before we delete an inactive account, and signing in keeps it open.
-
Applications: 2 years after the event or opportunity they're for.
-
Donation records: 7 years, for accounting, tax and dispute purposes, even if you delete your account sooner. This includes the donor's name for anonymous gifts, which isn't shown on the Site. After that, we remove your personal details from them and keep only anonymous amounts and totals, so fundraiser totals stay accurate.
-
Closed and past listings: removed from public view 7 days after their end date or event date. After that, they're kept in the poster's own portal (the Organization's, or the individual's for an Individual Fundraiser), visible only to them and the Sent to Serve team. We delete an archived listing 3 years after the date it was archived (or 7 years after that date, for a Fundraiser that received donations). The poster or the Sent to Serve team may delete it sooner. Posters can't delete a Fundraiser that has received donations themselves; they can email us to ask. Listings without a date stay public until the Organization or the Sent to Serve team removes them. If a Recipient's account is deleted, its archived Fundraisers that received donations are kept, no longer linked to the account and not shown publicly, until their own 7-year date.
-
Records of our approval or removal of a listing: kept as long as the listing is kept, then deleted with it under the archived-listing rule above.
-
Youth-safety reports: kept for at least 7 years. After 7 years they're flagged for manual review, and they're never deleted automatically.
-
Records of which Terms and policies you accepted, and when (including earlier versions): kept for as long as your account exists and afterward for as long as we may need them to show what was agreed to or to handle a legal claim.
-
Analytics data: Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months. Wix Analytics data is kept as set by Wix.
-
Newsletter signups: if we start a newsletter, until you unsubscribe.
When we delete information:
-
Some information may remain in backups for a limited time.
-
We may keep information when the law requires it or to resolve disputes.
-
Information you shared with an Organization (such as an application) may also be kept in that Organization's own records.
9. Your choices and rights
For everyone
-
See and update most of your information on your My Profile, My Organization, My Volunteering and My Donations pages.
-
Ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete your account. Email Senttoserve.help@gmail.com with the subject "Privacy request."
-
Withdraw an application from your My Volunteering page while it's still pending or approved.
-
Turn off analytics cookies by blocking or deleting them in your browser settings. Once our cookie banner is in place, you can use it instead (see the Cookie Notice).
-
Unsubscribe from any newsletter, if we start one, using the link in the email.
We'll verify your request, usually by confirming it from the email on your account, and respond within the time the law requires. We won't treat you differently for using your privacy rights.
US state privacy rights
-
Which laws: depending on where you live, US state privacy laws, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), the New Jersey Data Privacy Act (NJDPA), and similar laws in other states, may give you rights to:
-
know what personal information we collect, use and disclose;
-
access a copy of it;
-
correct it;
-
delete it;
-
get a portable copy of it;
-
opt out of its "sale" or "sharing," of targeted advertising, and of profiling with significant effects. We don't sell personal information. Some state laws may treat analytics cookies as 'sharing.' Once our cookie banner is in place, you'll be able to opt out with Reject or Settings. Until then, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on. We don't use personal information for targeted advertising or for profiling with significant effects;
-
limit the use of sensitive information (we use it only to provide the services you ask for).
-
-
Sensitive information. Because Sent to Serve is a Christian platform, your use of it may reveal your religious beliefs. We use that information only to provide the services you ask for, and never for advertising, and we don't sell it. You can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing us.
-
Whether they apply to us: some of these laws apply only to businesses that meet certain thresholds. Either way, we're glad to honor these requests.
-
Authorized agents: you may use an authorized agent. We may ask for proof that you authorized them.
-
Appeals: if we deny your request, you can appeal by emailing Senttoserve.help@gmail.com with the subject "Privacy appeal". We'll tell you the result and our reasons within the time the law requires. If we deny your appeal, you can contact your state attorney general or consumer-protection agency (in New Jersey, the Division of Consumer Affairs; in California, the Attorney General or the California Privacy Protection Agency).
-
Categories we collect: in the language of state privacy laws, we collect:
-
identifiers (name, email, phone, account ID, IP address);
-
personal records (address, organization details);
-
characteristics (date of birth / age);
-
commercial information (donation history);
-
internet activity (site usage, including analytics data);
-
general location (from addresses you enter and your IP address);
-
inferences: none;
-
sensitive information: account login details, and information that may reveal religious beliefs, such as your interest in or participation in Christian ministries, churches and missions. We use sensitive information only to provide the services you ask for.
-
-
Sources and sharing: we collect these from you, from your device, from Organizations (decisions on your applications) and from Stripe. We don't sell personal information. Some state laws may treat analytics cookies as 'sharing.' Once our cookie banner is in place, you'll be able to opt out with Reject or Settings. Until then, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on. We disclose identifiers, characteristics and profile details to the Organizations you apply to. We disclose identifiers and commercial information to Stripe and Wix as service providers, and identifiers and internet activity to Wix (Wix Analytics) as a service provider and to Google (Google Analytics), for the business purposes in Section 3. Some state laws may treat the Google Analytics disclosure as 'sharing'; you can opt out as described above. We keep each category for the periods in Section 8.
Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland
If you're in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the GDPR, the UK GDPR or the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) gives you these extra protections. Sent to Serve is the controller of your personal information.
-
Our lawful bases:
-
What we do → Lawful basis
-
Create and run your account, send your applications, process your donations and send service notifications → Contract: we need it to provide the services you ask for
-
Review listings, keep the Site safe, prevent fraud and abuse, keep records of important actions, and improve the Site → Legitimate interests: keeping a trustworthy, safe platform. You can object (see below)
-
Use analytics cookies and any other non-essential cookies; send a newsletter, if we start one → Consent: you can withdraw it at any time
-
Information that may reveal your religious beliefs (see below) → Needed to provide the faith-based services you choose to use; we use it for nothing else, and you can ask us to delete it at any time
-
Keep donation and tax records, and respond to lawful requests → Legal obligation
-
-
-
Religious-belief information. Because Sent to Serve is a Christian platform, your account, saved listings, applications and donations may reveal your religious beliefs. This is "special category data" under the GDPR and UK GDPR. We use it only to provide the services you ask for, and we never use it for advertising or share it beyond what Section 4 describes.
-
Your rights: you have the right to:
-
access your personal information;
-
rectification (correct inaccurate information);
-
erasure (ask us to delete it);
-
restriction (ask us to limit how we use it);
-
portability (receive it in a usable format, or have it sent to someone else);
-
object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
-
withdraw consent at any time, without affecting what we did before you withdrew it.
To use these rights, email Senttoserve.help@gmail.com with the subject "Privacy request." We'll respond within the time the law requires.
-
-
Age. If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you must be at least 18 to create an account. We check this when you save your member profile (see section 7).
-
Complaints: you have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for example the authority where you live or work. In the UK, that's the Information Commissioner's Office. In Switzerland, it's the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). We'd appreciate the chance to help first.
-
International transfers: Sent to Serve is based in the United States, and the Site and its data are hosted by Wix and processed by Stripe, including in the US. When analytics cookies are used, Google Analytics data is transferred to Google LLC in the US. When your information is transferred from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland to the US, we rely on the safeguards our providers use, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (with its UK Extension and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework) where they are certified, or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (with the UK Addendum). You can ask us for more information about these safeguards.
-
Organizations and Stripe: when you apply, the Organization receives your application as a separate controller, and Stripe acts as a separate controller for some payment data. The Organization may be in a different country from you, including one without data-protection laws like yours. We send your application there only because you asked us to, so the Organization can consider it.
Other countries
-
Other data protection laws may give you similar rights. Email us and we'll do our best to help.
10. How we protect your information
-
Access controls: we limit who can see private information, such as applications and donation records, to the people involved, the Organization concerned, the Sent to Serve team and our service providers.
-
Payments: payments run on Stripe's secure checkout.
-
Encryption: the Site uses HTTPS encryption.
-
No guarantees: no system is perfectly secure. Please use a strong, unique password, and tell us right away if you think your account has been misused.
-
If something goes wrong: if a data breach affects you, we'll notify you as required by law.
11. Sharing listings, and links to other sites
-
Anyone can share a listing. Every approved listing has a Share button, including closed and past listings until they come down. It lets anyone copy the link, or share it by Facebook, X, WhatsApp, email or text message. Shared links lead to the listing's public page on our Site.
-
How the Share buttons work. They're plain links. Nothing is sent to Facebook, X or WhatsApp unless you click one of those buttons, which opens that service. We don't track who shares a listing or where.
-
Once it's shared, other policies apply. When a link is posted on another platform, that platform's own privacy policy and terms apply. The platform may show a preview of the link. Today the preview uses our general page title and image, not the listing's photo.
-
When listings come down.
-
A past listing or Fundraiser drops out of the main browse lists, the home page and the default map the day after its date.
-
